Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

REMOVAL

WARNING: HOT, PRESSURIZED COOLANT CAN CAUSE INJURY BY SCALDING. COOLING SYSTEM MUST BE PARTIALLY DRAINED BEFORE REMOVING THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.

1. Drain cooling system below engine coolant temperature sensor level.





2. Remove power steering reservoir and relocate. Do not disconnect hoses.





3. Remove ignition coil and bracket.
4. Disconnect coolant sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove coolant sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. Install engine coolant temperature sensor. Tighten sensor to 7 Nm (60 inch lbs.).
2. Connect electrical connector to sensor.
3. Install ignition coil bracket.
4. Install ignition coil.
5. Install power steering reservoir.
6. Fill cooling system.
