Installation - 2.0/2.4L

  1. Install generator (Figure ) and loose assemble the bolt and nut (Figure ).
  2. Install the generator belt. Refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE - 2.0/2.4L for more information.
  3. Install axle shaft. Refer to AXLE SHAFTS .
  4. Install lower control arm to steering knuckle. Refer to SUSPENSION FRONT .
  5. Install the lower ball joint nut and tighten
  6. Install the axle retaining nut and tighten.
  7. Install the support bracket (Figure ).
  8. Install the B+ terminal nut and wire and tighten (Figure ) to 11.3 N.m (100 ins. lbs.).
  9. Plug in the field circuit to the generator
  10. Install the accessory drive belt splash shield (Figure ).
  11. Install the right front wheel.
  12. Lower vehicle.
  13. Tighten the upper pivot nut (Figure ) and tighten to 54 N.m (40 ft. lbs.)
  14. Connect the negative battery cable.
  15. Install the air cleaner lid and connect the inlet air temperature sensor and makeup hose.
  16. Check the transmission fluid.
