Fuel Pump Module: Installation

  1. Ensure sealing area on fuel tank is clean. Install a NEW seal between the tank threads and fuel pump module opening.
CAUTION: Overtightening the fuel pump module lock ring may result in a fuel leak.
  2. Position fuel pump module in tank. Make sure the alignment marks during the removal procedure line up on the fuel tank and pump module. While holding the pump module in position, install lock nut. Tighten lock nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install fuel tank. See FUEL TANK . Fill fuel tank with clean fuel. Using the DRBIII® scan tool, pressurize the system and check for leaks.
