Antilock Brake Module (MK25E): Removal

  1. Disconnect negative (-) battery cable from battery post and isolate.
  2. Raise and support vehicle. (Refer to LUBRICATION & MAINTENANCE/HOISTING - STANDARD PROCEDURE)
  3. If not equipped with traction control, remove three screws attaching the antilock brake module (ABM) to the HCU. See Fig 1.

  4. If equipped with traction control, remove four screws attaching antilock brake module (ABM) to HCU. See Fig 2.

  5. Slide ABM off HCU. See Fig 3.

  6. Disconnect the 47-way connector from the ABM by depressing the tabs on each side of the connector cover. See Fig 4, then pulling outward and upward on the lower half of the cover until it locks into position pointing straight outward. The connector can then be pulled straight outward off the ABM. See Fig 5.

  7. Remove ABM from vehicle.
