Charging System: Generator: Installation: 3.5L

  1. Install generator.
  2. Install the 2 lower mounting bolts. See Fig 1.
  3. Install the upper mounting bracket. See Fig 2.

  4. Tighten the 2 lower bolts first, tighten bolts to 54.2 N.m (40 ft. lbs.) then tighten the 2 upper bolts, tighten bolts to 28.2 N.m (20.8 ft. lbs.)
  5. Connect the generator field circuit wiring connector. See Fig 3. Push the RED  locking tab to lock connector.

  6. Install the B+ terminal nut and wire making sure the terminal is properly oriented with the anti-rotation tab. See Figure.
  7. Tighten nut to 12.5 N.m (110 in. lbs.).
  8. Install the generator drive belt. Refer to (COOLING/ACCESSORY DRIVE/DRIVE BELTS - INSTALLATION) .
  9. Install the engine cover.
  10. Connect battery negative cable.
