Sentry Key Immobilizer Module: Installation

  1. If the SKIM is replaced with a new unit, a scan tool MUST be used to initialize the new SKIM and to program at least two Sentry Key transponders. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - TRANSPONDER PROGRAMMING .
  2. Carefully position the SKIM, the mounting bracket and the antenna ring onto the steering column.
  3. Install the two retaining screws. See Figure.
  4. Connect the wire harness connector.
  5. Install the steering column upper and lower shrouds.
  6. Install the knee bolster. (Refer to BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY - INSTALLATION) .
  7. Connect the battery negative remote cable.
