Compass/Mini-Trip Computer: Description
The Compass Mini-Trip Computer (CMTC) is located in the center of the instrument panel, between the HVAC outlets. The Compass Mini-Trip Computer is an electronic control module with a vacuum fluorescent display and two function buttons. See Fig 1. The Compass Mini-Trip Computer communicates on the Programmable Communication Interface (PCI) Data Bus Circuit.
The information that is available via activation of the STEP button follows:
- Compass and Temperature
- Average Fuel Economy
- Distance to Empty
- Instantaneous Fuel Economy
- Trip Odometer
- Elapsed Time
- Blank Screen
The only information that can be reset includes Average Fuel Economy, Trip Odometer and Elapsed Time. To reset the display, press the STEP button until the desired information is displayed and press both function buttons at the same time.
The Compass Mini-Trip Computer cannot be repaired and, if faulty or damaged it must be replaced. The incandescent lamp for the STEP and US/METRIC button illumination is serviceable. Consult your Mopar® Parts Catalog for a specific part number.
