Diagnostic Test

  1. 1) TEST THE WIPER MOTOR

    NOTE: If any BCM DTCs are set, diagnose them first before continuing.

    Turn the ignition off.

    Disconnect the Body Control Module (BCM) C2 harness connector.

    NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.

    Connect a jumper wire between cavity 2 of the BCM C2 harness connector and B(+).

    Connect a jumper wire between cavity 41 of the BCM C2 harness connector and ground.

    With the jumper wires connected, does the Wiper Motor move? 

    Yes 

    1. Go to step  2).

    No 

    1. Replace the Wiper Motor. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Perform *BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. 2) MEASURE WIPER SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT VOLTAGE

    Disconnect the BCM harness connector.

    Turn the ignition on.

    Measure the BCM C3 harness connector cavity 65 for voltage with the Wiper Switch in the Low position.

    Is the voltage approximately 12 volts? 

    Yes 

    1. Replace the Body Control Module. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Perform *BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

    No 

    1. Replace the Multi-Function Switch. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Perform *BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
