Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read ORC DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Record the Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST .
- CHECK THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE PART NUMBER AND PROGRAMMING
- Check the part number for the OCM to insure it is correct.NOTE:
Use a diagnostic scan tool to access the OCM module and go to the MISCELLANEOUS FUNCTIONS menu item to perform the MODULE INITIALIZATION procedure to erase the fault and initialize the OCM.
- Perform the OCM Module Flash Programming procedure.
Is the correct OCM in the vehicle and did the programming procedure complete 100%?
Yes
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) in accordance with Service Information. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION (OCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE (OCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE (OCM) VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check the part number for the OCM to insure it is correct.
