Diagnostic Test
- CHECK THE WINDSHIELD FOR DELAMINATION
- Check the contact surface of the Light Rain Sensing Module to the windshield for delamination (this will resemble air bubbles in the contact area) and perform the FALSE WIPES (AUTOMATIC WIPER ONLY) procedure. Refer to WIPER SYSTEM AND WASHER SYSTEM, DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING
.
Is a concern present with the windshield?
Yes
- Replace the windshield in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 2
- Check the contact surface of the Light Rain Sensing Module to the windshield for delamination (this will resemble air bubbles in the contact area) and perform the FALSE WIPES (AUTOMATIC WIPER ONLY) procedure. Refer to WIPER SYSTEM AND WASHER SYSTEM, DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Record the Environmental Data and any DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK FOR AN ADDITIONAL ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
Diagnose any LIN Bus related DTCs set in the Body Control Module (BCM) before proceeding with this diagnostic procedure.
NOTE:If the (D402) LIN 2 Bus circuit is shorted to ground or battery voltage, this code may appear as Stored and when erased may return as Stored.
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Is DTC U1009-00-LIN 2 BUS set as active?
Yes
- Perform the U1009-00-LIN 2 BUS diagnostic procedure.
No
- Replace the Light Rain Sensing Module in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
