NOTE:

The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) may also be referred to as Electronic Stability Program (ESP) depending on the vehicle model year and configuration. Certain components may also reference ESP, ESC, or use the traction control symbol.

The Antilock Brake System (ABS) module is a micro controller based device which monitors the antilock brake system during normal braking and controls it when the vehicle is in an ABS stop. The ABS module also controls Electronic Stability Control (ESC) functions. The ABS module is mounted to the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) together forming the Integrated Control Unit (ICU).

The ABS module is mounted to the HCU as part of the ICU. The ICU, which includes the ABS module, is located  in the right front engine compartment rearward of the headlamp housing and inboard of the fender.

The ABS module is available for service separately from the ICU, however the HCU is only serviced as a complete assembly with the ABS module together as the ICU.

The Electric Parking Brake (EPB) module is integral to the ABS module. The ABS module controls all functions of the EPB system.
