Enabling/Set Conditions And Possible Causes - RDM Faults

THE DTC DESCRIPTIONS WITH T-CASE MOTOR AND T-CASE CLUTCH PRESSOR SENSOR CALLED OUT ARE USED FOR THE REAR DRIVE MODULE HYDRAULIC PUMP AND PRESSURE SENSOR ON THIS SYSTEM.

RDM SYSTEM ENABLING CONDITIONS AND FAULT SETTING CRITERIA:

The RDM hydraulic pump and pressure sensor circuit faults have these shared Monitoring Conditions:

Additional Monitoring Conditions for Hydraulic Pump Circuit faults (C104B-11, C104B-12, C104B-13):

FAULT SETTING CRITERIA
(C104B-11, C104B-12, C104B-13) - Hydraulic Pump Circuit Faults
  • Circuit Low - Voltage on one of the RDM Hydraulic Pump Motor Control circuits is below 0.032 volt for more than 1 second.
  • Circuit High - Voltage on one of the RDM Hydraulic Pump Motor Control circuits is above 5.8 volts for more than 1 second.
  • Circuit Open - Both of the following conditions are present of more than 1 second:
    • Voltage on the RDM Hydraulic Pump Motor Control A circuit is between 2.81 and 3.71 volts.
    • Voltage on the RDM Hydraulic Pump Motor Control B circuit is less than 0.032 volt.
(C1040-11, C1040-12) - Pressure Sensor Circuit Faults
  • Circuit Low - The DTCM detects that the pressure sensor signal circuit voltage is below 0.05 volts for one second.
  • Circuit High - The DTCM detects that the pressure sensor signal circuit voltage is above 4.85 volts for one second.
(C1040-1C) - Pressure Sensor Circuit Fault  Either of the following conditions is true for more than one second:
  • Voltage on the 5-Volt Supply circuit is below 4.92 volts.
  • Voltage on the 5-Volt Supply circuit is above 5.08 volts.
(C1477-4B, C1472-92) - RDM Clutch Overtemp Faults  Any of the following conditions are true for more than 10 ms:
  • Calculated RDM Clutch temperature is 140°C (284°F) for 60 minutes.
  • Calculated RDM Clutch temperature is 175°C (347°F) for 40 minutes.
  • Calculated RDM Clutch temperature is 200°C (392°F) for 20 minutes.
  • Calculated RDM Clutch temperature is 225°C (437°F) for 0 minutes.

C1472-92 - Sets when the Clutch Over-Temperature diagnostic test has failed 10 times during the same ignition cycle.
POSSIBLE CAUSES - MOTOR CONTROL
HYDRAULIC PUMP MOTOR CONTROL A CIRCUIT OPEN OR SHORTED TO BATTERY/GROUND
HYDRAULIC PUMP MOTOR CONTROL A CIRCUIT OPEN OR SHORTED TO BATTERY/GROUND
FAULTY HYDRAULIC PUMP
FAULTY DRIVETRAIN CONTROL MODULE (DTCM)
POSSIBLE CAUSES - PRESSURE SENSOR
