Bench Test.
- Disconnect fuel hose from fuel filter outlet. Install adapter (09268-87702-000) on fuel filter. Remove pressure regulator from delivery pipe. Install removed pressure regulator onto Adapter. Install removed injector to adapter. turn lock screw in so injector cannot be pulled out. Install fuel hoses to Adapter. Install Special connector (09991-97702-000) to check terminal. Short terminal "F" (WHT/BLK) to ground terminal (BLK). See Figure
.
- Install Injector Connector (09842-30040-000). Insert injector into a measuring cylinder. To prevent fuel from splashing during test, attach a vinyl tube at the tip end injector. Reconnect battery ground cable to negative terminal of battery. Turn on ignition.
- Connect positive terminal of Injector Connector to positive terminal of battery. Energize for 15 seconds.Measure amount of fuel that has collected in measuring cylinder. Amount should be about 1.21 oz (.036L). Perform check 2-3 times for each injector.
- If measured amount of fuel does not meet specification, replace injector. Variation between each injector must not exceed .0002 oz. (.005L). Prior to test, bleed air from fuel hose. This may take some time.
- With injector connector removed, measure fuel leakage from injector nozzle. Fuel leakage should not exceed one drop per minute. If it does, replace injector. Turn ignition off. Disconnect cable from negative terminal of battery. remove all Special Tools.
