Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC)

The wiring to several electrical systems on this vehicle will be protected using PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) devices.

The PTCs are located in the junction block and act as non-replaceable resettable fuses.

An overload such as a short circuit will cause the device to trip and limit the current to less than an amp, protecting the wire.

To reset the device all current must be removed (similar to a remote reset circuit breaker).
- With current removed the PTC will automatically reset in about 20 seconds.
