Power Door Lock Test 8A - Left Door Lock Switch Failure
NOTE:
Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1B
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Clear trouble codes as needed. See DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . Using scan tool, read driver's door zone switch voltage. If LF DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 3 volts, replace driver's door lock switch. If LF DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 3 volts, go to next step.
- Operate driver's door lock switch to lock position and observe voltage on scan tool. Do not hold switch in lock position for more than 7 seconds or code will set. If LF DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 3 volts, go to next step. If LF DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 3 volts, replace driver's door lock switch.
- Operate driver's door lock switch several times from unlock to lock position. Release switch. With switch in neutral position, observe scan tool voltage. If LF DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 5 volts, system is currently functioning correctly. If LF DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 5 volts, replace driver's door lock switch.
