Windshield Wiper Test 9B - Rear Wiper Not Operating
NOTE:
Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 9A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Remove fuse No. 8 from junction block. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHTS TEST 4A. Replace as needed. Go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step 3).
- Disconnect Heater, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control module 21-pin Blue connector (integral with instrument panel unit). Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on HVAC connector, terminal No. 10 (Black/Orange wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace HVAC module. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Black/Orange wire.
- Disconnect Heater, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control module 21-pin Blue connector (integral with instrument panel unit). Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on HVAC connector, terminal No. 10 (Black/Orange wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Black/Orange wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace HVAC module.
