Engine Controls - Tests W/Codes - 2.4L: Introduction: Notes

NOTE: On Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) applications, if test procedure or specification differs from gasoline model, test procedure or specification will be listed separately. If test procedure or specification does not vary, CNG applications will be included with gasoline model.

Perform all steps in BASIC TESTING - 2.4L article. If no faults were found while performing BASIC TESTING - 2.4L article proceed with self-diagnostics. If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present after entering self-diagnostics, perform TEST NTC-1A for engine diagnosis. If after performing TEST NTC-1A test, problem is not identified and repaired, proceed to TESTS W/O CODES - 2.4L article for diagnosis by symptom.
