Windshield Wiper Test 9B - Rear Wiper Not Operating

NOTE: Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 9A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Remove fuse No. 6 from junction block. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHTS TEST 4A. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is open, go to step 3).
  2. Disconnect Heater, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control module 21-pin Blue connector (integral with instrument panel unit). Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on HVAC connector, terminal No. 10 (Black/Pink wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace HVAC module. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Black/Pink wire.
  3. Disconnect Heater, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control module 21-pin Blue connector (integral with instrument panel unit). Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 10 (Black/Pink wire) on HVAC connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Black/Pink wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace HVAC module.
