Windshield Wiper Test 9B - Rear Wiper Not Operating
NOTE:
Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 9A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Remove fuse No. 6 from junction block. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHTS TEST 4A. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is open, go to step 3).
- Disconnect Heater, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control module 21-pin Blue connector (integral with instrument panel unit). Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on HVAC connector, terminal No. 10 (Black/Pink wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace HVAC module. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Black/Pink wire.
- Disconnect Heater, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control module 21-pin Blue connector (integral with instrument panel unit). Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 10 (Black/Pink wire) on HVAC connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Black/Pink wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace HVAC module.
