VTSS Test 2A - Door Disarm Switch Failure
NOTE:
Perform VTSS TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Using scan tool, read VTSS inputs/outputs information. If scan tool displays door disarm switch state OPEN, system is currently functioning properly at this time. If scan tool does not display door disarm switch state OPEN, go to next step.
- Disconnect left door disarm switch. If scan tool displays door disarm switch state OPEN, replace left door disarm switch. If scan tool does not display door disarm switch state OPEN, go to next step.
- Disconnect right door disarm switch. If scan tool displays door disarm switch state OPEN, replace left door disarm switch. If scan tool does not display door disarm switch state OPEN, go to next step.
- Access Central Timer Module (CTM). CTM is located behind right kick panel. Disconnect CTM 18-pin connector "B". Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and CTM 18-pin connector "B" terminal No. 10 (Black/Orange wire on Dakota and Light Green/Orange wire on Durango). If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short to ground in Black/Orange wire on Dakota and Light Green/Orange wire on Durango. If resistance is 1000 ohms or more, replace CTM.
