Powertrain Verification Test VER-3
NOTE:
After completing this Powertrain Verification Test, perform TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST VER-1 (45RFE/545REF)
. If replacing the PCM, the correct vehicle mileage and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) must be programmed into PCM to prevent DTCs from being stored in Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) and Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Air Bag Control Module (ACM). See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE
under PROGRAMMING. If replacing PCM and vehicle is equipped with a Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM), secret key data must also be updated to enable engine starting. See SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER MODULE
under PROGRAMMING.
- Turn ignition off. Inspect vehicle to ensure all components related to the repair are properly connected. Turn the ignition on, with the engine off. With the DRBIII(R), clear DTCs.
- Perform Generator Output Test. Start the engine and set engine speed to 2000 RPM for at least 30 seconds. Cycle the ignition off and on. Turn ignition on. With the DRBIII(R), read DTCs. Are any DTCs or symptoms remaining? If yes, check for any related Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) and/or perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS table under DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS. If no, repair is complete.
