Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Place the lower radiator fan shroud tabs (1) into the radiator mounts.

  2. Place the upper radiator fan shroud tabs (2) into the radiator mounts and engage the retainers (1).

  3. Install the upper radiator mounting brackets (1) to the radiator.

  4. Position the radiator/cooling fan assembly in the vehicle and secure the upper radiator mounting brackets with the bolts (1) tightened to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  5. Place the top of the A/C condenser (1) on the radiator mount tabs (2).

  6. Engage the A/C condenser (1) into the radiator lock tabs (2).

  7. Place the transmission oil cooler mount tabs (4) in the radiator mounts (5) and gently push the upper mounting tabs (1) into the retainers (2).

  8. Align the radiator shroud (1), engage the upper retention clips (2) and snap into place.

  9. Install the two screws (3) at the bottom of the radiator shroud (1).

  10. Position the front bumper reinforcement (2) into position and install the left side bolts (1) finger tight.

  11. Install the right side bolts (2) to the front bumper reinforcement (1) and tighten all front bumper reinforcement bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  12. Attach the wire harness retainers (1) to the front bumper reinforcement (2).

  13. Install the air seals (1), if removed.

  14. Install the power steering fluid cooler (1) to the front bumper reinforcement with two bolts (2) tightened to the proper torque specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
  15. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

  16. Engage the transmission oil cooler line retainer (1) to the radiator fan shroud.
  17. Connect and lock the radiator cooling fan harness connector (4).
  18. Connect and lock the radiator cooling fan speed control module harness connector (3).
  19. Engage the wire harness retainer (2) to the fan shroud.

  20. Install the upper radiator inlet hose (1) to the radiator and engage the quick-connect coupling.

  21. Position the pressurized coolant bottle (1) onto the rubber grommet, install the two bolts (2) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  22. Position the core support (4), while aligning the radiator to the bushings (1) and install the two lower bolts (3) hand tight.

  23. Install the bolts (1) to hold the front of the right and left load beams to the radiator support panel and tighten the bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  24. Tighten the two previously installed lower radiator core support bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  25. Install the right lower splash shield (1) with four bolts (3 and 4) and screw (2) tightened to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  26. Install the lower radiator hose (1) and fill the cooling system. Refer to FILLING THE COOLING SYSTEM  .
  27. Install the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  28. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  29. Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check cooling system for correct fluid level. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
