Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

  1. Turn ignition on, engine off. DO NOT  unplug the TPS wire harness connector. Insert digital volt-ohm meter leads through the back of the wire harness connector.
  2. TPS connector is marked "A", "B" and "C". Insert negative voltmeter lead in terminal "B" and positive lead in terminal "C". Reading should be 5 volts.
  3. Insert negative voltmeter lead in terminal "B" and positive lead in terminal "A". Reading should be .4 volt. To adjust, loosen TPS retaining screws and pivot sensor to obtain correct reading.
