Alternator & Regulator: Description

NOTE: Monaco and Premier models are manufactured with either an early or late design. Only late design models are covered in this article. Late design models are equipped with DIS, with engine controller (SBEC) located next to battery. Service procedures for early design models are the same as 1990 models.

Monaco and Premier models are equipped with a Delco-Remy CS130 (96-amp) alternator. Alternator does not use a diode trio. If charging system voltage is too high or too low when engine is running, regulator will cause charge indicator light to turn on. Regulator is enclosed in a solid mold, mounted inside alternator. Alternator is not serviceable.

NOTE: Manufacturer does not recommend disassembling and servicing CS alternators. If alternator is defective, a new unit must be installed.
