Fuel Leveling Valve Assembly (FWD Models)

  1. Fuel leveling valve assembly is bolted to the top of driver's side rear corner of fuel tank. It may be necessary to remove fuel tank for access to fuel leveling valve assembly. If removing fuel tank, release fuel pressure before removing fuel tank. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE under FUEL SYSTEM in REMOVE/INSTALL/OVERHAUL article.
  2. Remove fuel leveling valve assembly. Hold fuel leveling valve in vertical position with hose fitting on fuel leveling valve at the top.
  3. Check that valve is positioned downward in the open position. Valve is located on the inside of fuel leveling valve assembly at the center of the assembly. Slightly tilt fuel leveling valve assembly and note that valve moves upward to the closed position. Replace fuel leveling valve assembly if valve operation is not as specified.
