Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. With the scan tool, erase the VTM DTCs.
2. Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
3. With the scan tool, read the VTM DTCs.
  Does the scan tool display: B1000-44-ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT - DATA MEMORY FAILURE as active?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Vehicle Tracking Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, VEHICLE TRACKING, REMOVAL .
  - Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
  No
  - Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
  - Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
