Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK IF DTC IS CURRENT 
    NOTE:

    Make sure the Battery is in good condition. Using the Midtronics Battery Tester, test the Battery before continuing.

    NOTE:

    Inspect the fuses in the PDC. If an open fuse is found, use the wire diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for damage.

    1. With a scan tool, read DTCs.
      NOTE:

      It may be necessary to drive the vehicle to meet the conditions to set this DTC, try to repeat the conditions in which the fault originally set by reviewing the Freeze Frame data.

      Is the DTC Active or Pending at this time?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE PIM AND OBCM DTCS 
    1. Check the PIM and OBCM for charging DTCs.

      Were there any PIM or OBCM charging DTCs?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE BATTERY NEGATIVE (-) CABLE 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Measure the voltage between the B (-) cable ground and the Battery Positive (+) Post.

      Is the voltage above 0.25 Volt?

      Yes 

      • Repair the Battery Positive (+) circuit for high resistance.
      • Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No 

      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK THE BATTERY POSITIVE (+) CIRCUIT FOR HIGH RESISTANCE 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Check the Battery Positive (+) circuit between the battery and the Power Inverter Module (PIM).

      Were any problems found with the Battery Positive (+) circuit?

      Yes 

      • Repair the Battery Positive (+) circuit between the battery and the PIM.
      • Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

      No 

      • Replace the Intelligent Battery Sensor in accordance with the service information.
      • Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
