CHECK THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM)

NOTE:

When replacing the TCM, data from the old TCM is transferred to the new TCM. Follow all steps in the TCM Removal procedure.

Using the schematics as a guide, check the Transmission Control Module (TCM) terminals and connectors for corrosion, damage or pushed out terminals. Pay particular attention to the power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace the TCM and perform programming procedures. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL, REMOVAL .
If necessary, perform the appropriate TRANSMISSION COMPONENT RELEARN PROCEDURE in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
