This vehicle is equipped with an audible pedestrian warning system that uses distinctive sounds to help ensure the safety of other road users. The warning system is automatically activated when selecting Drive or Reverse. In Drive range, at approximately 22 mph the warning is silenced until the vehicle speed returns to approximately 20 mph. The audible warning system uses an in-car sound synthesizer with a speaker located in the engine compartment.

The Vehicle Pedestrian Alert Module (VPAM) (2) is located beneath the ePRND assembly.

The speaker (3) is located in the front right of the fascia.
