Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR BCM CAN BUS DTCS 

1. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.

   Are any BCM CAN BUS DTCs present?

   Yes 

   • Refer to U0001-87-CAN C BUS - NO SIGNAL and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Perform the diagnostic procedure for DTC U0001-CAN C BUS first if the fault is present.
   • Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to the appropriate article. Refer to AW60T TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST or C635 DDCT TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .

   No 

   • Using the schematics as a guide, check the Gear Shift / Electronic Shift Module (ESM) terminals for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace the Shift Lever Assembly in accordance with the Service Information.
   • Perform the Transmission Verification Test. Refer to the appropriate article. Refer to AW60T TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST or C635 DDCT TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
