BCM Access Panel
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the front door sill plate. Refer to PLATE, SCUFF, DOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the transmission shift lever handle. For automatic Refer to SHIFTER, TRANSMISSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , For manual Refer to KNOB, GEARSHIFT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the steering column opening cover. (Refer to COVER, INSTRUMENT PANEL ).
- Remove the HVAC duct. Refer to DUCT, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CENTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Reposition that passenger compartment mat (1a) to gain access to the Body Control Module (BCM) access cover.
- Remove the hood opening lever cable (1a) and remove the nuts (1b).
- Remove the BCM access cover.
INSTALLATION
- Position the BCM access cover in its housing and tighten the nuts.
- Connect the hood lever cable to its housing.
- Install the HVAC duct. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Install the steering column opening cover. (Refer to COVER, INSTRUMENT PANEL ).
- Install the transmission shift lever handle. For automatic Refer to SHIFTER, TRANSMISSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , For manual Refer to KNOB, GEARSHIFT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the front door sill plate. Refer to PLATE, SCUFF, DOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
