Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK OPERATION OF STARTER REMOTE CONTROL SWITCHES 
    1. Go to Key-OFF status.
    2. Disconnect the negative battery lead.
    3. Remove the starter remote control switches.
    4. Check operation of starter remote control switches.

      Are the starter remote control switches working?

      Yes 

      • Go to Step  2.

      No 

      • Replace the starter remote control switches.
      • Go to Step  4.
  2. CHECK CONNECTION STATUS OF PASSIVE ENTRY NODE 
    1. Disconnect the Passive Entry node connector.
    2. Check state of connector and that the terminals are not damaged, deformed, corroded or disconnected.

      Is the connector intact?

      Yes 

      • Go to Step  3.

      No 

      • Repair or replace the connector, then move on to Step  4.
  3. CHECK FOR THE PRESENCE OF OPEN CIRCUIT OF STARTER REMOTE CONTROL SWITCHES 
    1. Ensure the starter remote control switches have been removed.
    2. Check that the connector of the Passive Entry Node is disconnected.
    3. PIN E of the starter remote control switches and PIN D (A connector) of the Passive Entry Node
    4. PIN A of the starter remote control switches and PIN V (B connector) of the Passive Entry Node

      Is short-circuit present?

      Yes 

      • Go to Step  4.

      No 

      • Repair or replace the wiring because it is subject to an open circuit, then proceed to Step  4.
  4. CHECK THE CORRECT OPERATION OF THE PASSIVE ENTRY NODE 
    1. Restore the electrical connections.
    2. Connect the negative battery lead.
    3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    4. Wait at least 1 second.
    5. Check if the DTC is still present.

      Is the DTC still present?

      Yes 

      • Repeat the checks from Step  1 .
      • Replace the Passive Entry Node if the DTC occurs again.

      No 

      • End of diagnosis.
