Description And Operation - 3-Inch Screen System
The vehicles with the 3-inch radio have an audio unit with a two line LCD display. This audio unit incorporates an AM/FM radio tuner. The various audio system operations can be selected with the buttons on the audio unit, and some of them (audio, hands free telephone, voice recognition) can be managed with the remote radio switch buttons on the steering wheel.

System Components
The following are the 3-inch display entertainment system related parts. Standard equipment includes the audio unit and the auxiliary jack/USB port. Depending on the vehicle options selected, the Bluetooth® module is categorized as standard equipment or optional equipment.
If equipped with Bluetooth®, a separate Bluetooth® module and microphone are packaged with the sound system.
Audio Unit
Through the Controller Area Network - Interior High Speed (CAN-IHS) data bus, the audio unit controls the Bluetooth® module, and receives music, text and Bluetooth® digital data from these units. To facilitate system diagnosis, the audio unit has an on-board diagnostic function and diagnostic assist function. DTC inspection and audio system related parts inspection can be performed by operating the audio unit.

Auto Level Control (ALC) Function
The ALC changes the audio volume automatically according to the vehicle speed. The faster the vehicle speed, the higher the volume increases.
The ALC function is divided into seven levels. When the level is in the high range, the volume correction range and correction amount is large. At ALC Level 7, the amount that the volume can increase is at the maximum (14 dB). The ALC function can be stopped by setting the ALC to OFF.
Audio Sound Adjustment Function
Press the menu button (MENU) to select the function. The selected function will be indicated.
Turn the POWER/VOLUME knob to adjust the selected functions as follows:
| Indication | Setting Value | |
| Turn Left | Turn Right | |
| ALC (Automatic volume adjustment) | Level decrease | Level increase |
| BASS (Low pitch sound) | Decrease bass | Increase bass |
| TREB (Treble sound) | Decrease treble | Increase Treble |

Bluetooth® Module
The Bluetooth® module (1) is installed behind the right kick panel, near the glove compartment. Manages wireless transmission with paired Bluetooth® enabled mobile phones and portable audio devices. Through the CAN-IHS data bus, the Bluetooth® module receives a control signal and sends the digital data from the Bluetooth® enabled device to the audio unit. The audio signal is sent through the wire harness.

The battery consumption of Bluetooth® audio devices increases while Bluetooth® is connected. If a generic mobile phone device is connected to the USB port while music is being played back over the Bluetooth® connection, the Bluetooth® connection is disconnected. For this reason, you cannot have music playback over a Bluetooth® connection and music playback using a USB connection at the same time. The system may not operate normally depending on the Bluetooth® audio device.
Auxiliary Jack/USB Port
Use a commercially-available, low-impedance stereo mini plug or a USB cable. The system may not operate normally depending on the USB device. An iPod cannot be operated while it is connected to the USB port because the audio unit controls the iPod functions.
| Part | Specifications |

| Functions | Description |
| Malfunction detection | Detects overall malfunctions in the audio system-related parts. |
| Memory | Stores detected DTCs. |
| Display | Indicates system malfunctions via a DTC display. |
Memory Function
If the audio unit detects a malfunction in the entertainment system, it stores the DTC internally. If the audio unit has already stored the maximum number of DTCs and detects another malfunction, it clears the oldest DTC and stores the new DTC.
DTCs stored in the audio unit are cleared if the negative battery lead is disconnected (if backup power is interrupted).
| Target | Maximum Memory Number |
| Audio unit | 3 |
| Bluetooth® module | 0 Because the Bluetooth® module only displays the currently detected DTC, the memory function is not available. |
On-Board Diagnostics
