Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK CORRECT INSTALLATION OF SIDE IMPACT SENSOR, DRIVER SIDE, ON STRUT 
    1. Go to Key-OFF status.
    2. at least 1 minute.
    3. Ensure that the side impact sensor, driver side, on strut is correctly installed.

      Is the side impact sensor, driver side, on strut correctly installed?

      Yes 

      • Go to Step  2.

      No 

      • Correctly install the side impact sensor, driver side, on strut, then go to Step  4.
  2. CHECK CONNECTION STATUS OF SIDE IMPACT SENSOR, DRIVER SIDE, ON STRUT 
    1. Disconnect the connector of the side impact sensor, driver side, on strut.
    2. Check connector status of the side impact sensor, driver side, on strut, and ensure that the terminals are not damaged, deformed, corroded or disconnected.

      Is the connector of side impact sensor, driver side, on strut, intact?

      Yes 

      • Go to Step  3.

      No 

      • Replace or repair the connector, then move on to Step  4.
  3. CHECK FOR THE ERROR PERSISTENCE ON THE SIDE IMPACT SENSOR, DRIVER SIDE, ON STRUT 
    1. Connect the negative battery lead.
    2. Go to key-on condition (engine off or on).
    3. Perform the Airbag Module error deletion procedure.
    4. Check if the error is still present.

      Is the error still present?

      Yes 

      • Replace the side impact sensor, driver side, on strut, then go to Step  4.

      No 

      • End of diagnosis.
  4. CHECK CORRECT FUNCTIONING OF THE AIR-BAG MODULE 
    1. Go to Key-OFF status.
    2. at least 1 minute.
    3. Connect the Airbag Module connectors.
    4. Reconnect all disconnected connectors.
    5. Connect the negative battery lead.
    6. Go to key-on condition (engine off or on).
    7. Perform the Airbag Module error deletion procedure.
    8. Check if the error is still present.

      Is the error still present?

      Yes 

      No 

      • End of diagnosis.
