Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK CONNECTION STATUS OF THE SIDE AIRBAG, DRIVER SIDE 
    1. Go to Key-OFF status.
    2. at least 1 minute.
    3. Disconnect the connector of side Airbag, driver side.
    4. Check connector status of the side Airbag, driver side, and ensure that the terminals are not damaged, deformed, corroded or disconnected.

      Is the connector of the side Airbag, driver side intact?

      Yes 

      • Go to Step  2.

      No 

      • Replace or repair the connector, then move on to Step  6.
  2. CHECK FOR PRESENCE OF SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND OF THE SIDE AIRBAG, DRIVER SIDE 
    1. Disconnect the clock spring connector.
    2. Disconnect the connector of the Airbag, passenger side.
    3. Disconnect the connectors of the seat, passenger side and driver side.
    4. Disconnect the connectors of the pretensioners, passenger side and driver side.
    5. Disconnect the all the Airbag Module connectors.
    6. PIN G (connector A) of Airbag Module
    7. PIN C (connector A) of Airbag Module

      Is short-circuit present?

      Yes 

      • Repair or replace the wiring because it is subject to a short circuit to ground, then proceed to Step  6.

      No 

      • Go to Step  3.
  3. CHECK FOR THE PRESENCE OF OPEN CIRCUIT OF THE SIDE AIRBAG, DRIVER SIDE 
    1. Check that side Airbag, driver side and Airbag Module connectors are disconnected.
    2. PIN A (connector A) of side Airbag, driver side and PIN G (connector A) of Airbag Module
    3. PIN B (connector A) of side Airbag, driver side and PIN C (connector A) of Airbag Module

      Is short-circuit present?

      Yes 

      • Go to Step  4.

      No 

      • Repair or replace the wiring because it is subject to an open circuit, then proceed to Step  6.
  4. CHECK FOR THE PRESENCE OF SHORT CIRCUIT TO BATTERY OF THE SIDE AIRBAG, DRIVER SIDE 
    1. Check that side Airbag, driver side and Airbag Module connectors are disconnected.
    2. Connect the negative battery lead.
    3. Go to key-on condition (engine off or on).
    4. PIN G (connector A) of Airbag Module
    5. PIN C (connector A) of Airbag Module

      Is voltage higher than 0 V?

      Yes 

      • Go to Step  5.

      No 

      • Repair or replace the wiring because it is subject to a short circuit to battery, then go to Step  6.
  5. CHECK OPERATION OF SIDE AIRBAG, DRIVER SIDE 
    1. Connect the Airbag Module connectors.
    2. Reconnect all connectors, except the connector of side Airbag, driver side.
    3. 2 Ohm) to PIN A (connector A) and PIN B (connector A) of the side Airbag, driver side.
    4. Connect the negative battery lead.
    5. Go to key-on condition (engine off or on).
    6. Perform the Airbag Module error deletion procedure.
    7. Check if the error is still present.

      Is the error still present?

      Yes 

      • Go to Step  6.

      No 

      • Replace the side Airbag, driver side, then move on to Step  6.
  6. CHECK CORRECT FUNCTIONING OF THE AIR-BAG MODULE 
    1. Go to Key-OFF status.
    2. at least 1 minute.
    3. 2 Ohm).
    4. Connect the connector of side Airbag, driver side.
    5. Connect the negative battery lead.
    6. Go to key-on condition (engine off or on).
    7. Perform the Airbag Module error deletion procedure.
    8. Check if the error is still present.

      Is the error still present?

      Yes 

      No 

      • End of diagnosis.
