Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
NOTE:
This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid.
1. Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. With the scan tool, read EPS DTCs and record on the vehicle repair order.
4. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
5. Turn the ignition off.
6. Turn the ignition on.
7. Wait ten seconds.
8. With the scan tool, read EPS DTCs.
  Is the DTC active?
  
  Yes
  - Go to 2
  No
  - Perform the ABS-INTERMITTENT CONDITION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
BCM PROXY CONFIGURATION ALIGNMENT
1. In the Body Control Module (BCM) with the scan tool, under "Miscellaneous Functions" run the "PROXY Configuration Alignment" routine.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
4. Wait ten seconds.
5. With the scan tool, read EPS DTCs.
  Does the DTC remain active?
  
  Yes
  - Replace the Electric Power Steering (EPS) Module in accordance with service information. (Refer to - STEERING/COLUMN/REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ).
  - Perform the EPS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EPS VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time.
