Module, Body Control (BCM): Removal

  1. Disconnect, and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Grasp the fuse access cover (1) from the bottom and pull outward to remove.

  3. Remove the two fasteners (1) from the fuse access area.
  4. Release the diagnostic terminal (3) from the steering column closeout panel (2).
  5. Using a Trim Stick (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, disengage the retaining clips.
  6. Remove the steering column closeout (2) from the vehicle.

  7. Remove the fasteners to remove the fuse box cover.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connectors on the front side of the Body Control Module (BCM).
  9. Remove the three screws (1) that secure the BCM (1) to the mounting bracket.

  10. Slightly rotate the BCM (2) to gain access to remove the electrical connectors (1) on the back.
