Radiator, Engine Cooling: Installation
- Install the radiator cooling fan expanders into the retainer clips on the radiator. Pinch the locking tabs (1 and 2) while inserting the fan into the radiator housing.
- Slide the fan into the retainers (2) on the left side of the radiator.
- Install the cooling fan retaining bolt (1). Tighten the cooling fan retaining bolt to 8 N.m (70 in. lbs.).
- Install the A/C condenser in the reverse manner used to remove the unit. Tighten the condenser retaining screw to 8 N.m (70 in. lbs.). Refer to CONDENSER, A/C, INSTALLATION .
- Install the CAC to the radiator lower locators.
- Roll the CAC into position.
- Align the bushings to the eyelets at the radiator (1).
- Position the radiator, condenser, CAC and fan as an assembly (5) into position.
- Align the lower pins (4) to the locators.
- Roll the assembly rearward and into position against the FEM.
- Install the four bolts (3) to cooling module to the FEM.
- Tighten the bolts to 15 N.m (133 in. lbs.).
- Install the coolant bottle return hoes to the hose retainers (2).
- Install the wire harness connectors (1 and 4) to the cooling fan.
- Attach the CAC inlet hose quick connect (1).
- Attach the CAC outlet hose quick connect (1).
- Install the upper and lower radiator hoses and clamps.
- Install the shroud (3). Push the expanding clips through the retaining slots (1).
- Install the shroud bolts (2). Tighten to 9 N.m (80 in. lbs.).
- Install the coolant bottle (1).
- Install the bolts (2). Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 in. lbs.).
- Install the bumper reinforcement. Refer to REINFORCEMENT, BUMPER, REAR, INSTALLATION
.CAUTION:
The FIAT engines use a OAT coolant. OAT coolant CAN NOT be mixed with and other kinds of coolant. Heavy corrosion or damage may occur to the cooling system or engine, unless the proper coolant has been used.
- Fill the cooling system with OAT
coolant. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Install the air intake assembly. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the battery negative cable.
