Output State Test
- These checks are specified in the testing charts. Output State Test is used to diagnose each actuator. Test is performed in the Key On-Engine Off Self-Test mode, after service codes have been sent. DO NOT disable self-test, but momentarily depress throttle and release. All auxiliary EEC outputs will be activated at this time. Another throttle depression will turn them off.
- Connect DVOM to self-test output pin 4. Start the Key On Engine Off Self-Test. When Continuous codes are completed, DVOM will read 0 volts. Depress accelerator to turn on actuators.
- Disconnect DVOM from pin 4 and connect to appropriate actuator. Measure voltage at actuator. Readings above 10.5 volts indicate actuators are on, readings below 2 volts indicate actuators are off. Each test will tell what action to take according to voltage shown on DVOM.
NOTE:
Bronco and "F" series models equipped with 5.0L EFI engines, are not equipped with a knock sensor. This will cause a code "25" on the "Quick Test". This code should be ignored.
