Code 58

  1. 7)  Checking ITS. With ignition off, disconnect harness from ISC DC motor. Rerun SELF-TEST. If code 58 is displayed, ignore all other codes and go to step 11). If code 58 is not displayed, replace ISC DC motor and rerun SELF-TEST.
  2. 8)  Checking for Short to Ground. With key off, disconnect ISC DC motor and ISC-E processor connector. Set DVOM on 200,000-ohm scale. Measure resistance between pin No. 7 and chassis ground. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace ISC-E processor. Reconnect ISC DC motor and retest. If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, repair short to ground, reconnect processor and ISC-E motor and retest.
