The turbine is a centripetal, radial in-flow type. Exhaust gases passing through turbine assembly cause turbine wheel to rotate, which in turn causes compressor wheel to rotate. Rotational speed is governed by flow-rate of the exhaust gas. As engine speed increases, turbine speed increases, resulting in increased compressor speed and pressure.
