Intake Air Control/By-Pass Air Control Valve Assembly

  1. Disconnect harness connector from IAC/BPA valve assembly. Measure resistance across the 2 terminals on valve. Resistance should be 7.7-9.3 ohms. If resistance is within specification, go to next step. If resistance is not within specification, replace IAC/BPA valve assembly.
  2. Remove IAC/BPA valve assembly from engine. Let valve cool to room temperature. Blow through air passage on valve. Air should pass through valve. Heat valve using a heat gun. Air should be restricted through valve. If valve functions properly, IAC/BPA valve assembly is okay. If valve does not function properly, replace IAC/BPA valve assembly.
