Test C: Remote Transmitter Out Of Synchronization

  1. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below steering column. Retrieve continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). If DTC B2425 is not retrieved, go to next step. If DTC B2425 is retrieved, go to step  4 .
  2. Press any button on inoperative remote transmitter 4 times consecutively. If remote transmitter does not operate correctly, go to next step. If remote transmitter operates correctly, system is operating correctly at this time.
  3. Check for another remote transmitter that operates with vehicle. If there is another remote transmitter that operates with vehicle, go to next step. If there is not another remote transmitter that operates with vehicle, go to step  5 .
  4. Press any button on operational remote transmitter. Within 30 seconds, press any button on remote transmitter in question. Check remote transmitter in question for correct operation. If remote transmitter in question does not operate correctly, go to next step. If remote transmitter in question operates correctly, retest system for normal operation.
  5. Reprogram all remote transmitters. See PROGRAMMING REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. If remote transmitter in question does not operate correctly, go to TEST B: DOORS DO NOT LOCK/UNLOCK USING REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. If remote transmitter in question operates correctly, system is operating correctly at this time. Inform customer that any additional remote transmitters not present at time of programming will not operate with vehicle.
