Pinpoint Test K: Testing
CAUTION:
Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multi-meter probes.
- K1 CHECK VOLTAGE TO THE ABS MODULE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: ABS Module C149.
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between ABS module C149-32; circuit 640 (RD/YE), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes : GO to K3.
No : VERIFY central junction box (CJB) fuse 2 (10A) is OK. If OK, GO to K2.
- K2 CHECK CIRCUIT 640 (RD/YE) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: ABS Factory Test Connector C126.
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between ABS factory test connector C126-6, circuit 640 (RD/YE), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes : REPAIR the circuit between the ABS factory test connector C126-5 and the ABS module 149-32 or INSTALL a new wire assembly jumper as needed.
No : REPAIR circuit 640 (RD/YE). TEST the system for normal operation.
- K3 CHECK CIRCUIT 530 (LG/YE) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between ABS module C149-16, circuit 530 (LG/YE), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistances less than 5 ohms?
Yes : CHECK the module communications network. REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
No : REPAIR circuit 530 (LG/YE). TEST the system for normal operation.
