Brake Shift Interlock System - Column

The brake shift interlock system prevents shifting from PARK unless the brake pedal is applied. The brake shift interlock system consists of a Brake Shift Interlock Actuator (BSIA) mounted at the upper end of the steering column. If the ignition switch is in the RUN position, the BSIA  is on unless the brake pedal is applied.
