Differential Fluid Level Check

Materials 

Name Specification
Motorcraft ® SAE 80W-90 Premium Rear Axle Lubricant XY-80W90-QL WSP-M2C197-A

Check 

  1. 1.

    Raise the vehicle. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

  1. 2.

    Remove the retainers and the air deflector.

    Remove the filler plug.

  1. 4.

    If empty, fill the rear axle with 0.54L (1.15pt) of rear axle lubricant. If fluid level is low, fill to 3-5 mm (0.118-0.196 in) below the bottom of the filler hole and install the filler plug.

    Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 80W-90 Premium Rear Axle Lubricant / XY-80W90-QL (WSP-M2C197-A)

    Torque:

    1. Stage 1: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
    2. Stage 2: 180°

    Install the air deflector and retainers.

    Lower the vehicle. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
