RKE (With Push Button Start)
The passive key supplies a signal to the Radio Frequency (RF) Receiver when any RKE button is pressed. The Radio Frequency (RF) Receiver interprets the information from the passive key and sends the information to the RFA module. If the RFA module detects a programmed key, it sends a message over the CAN to the BCM a command corresponding with the button pressed.
The RKE transmitters and the RFA module also utilize a rolling code to prevent the code from being captured by a code grabber. The system advances the counter in the RKE transmitter and the RFA module every time an RKE transmitter button is pressed.
