Pinpoint Test D : Unable To Program Keys

  1. D1 CHECK THE RFA (REMOTE FUNCTION ACTUATOR) MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE SELF-TEST

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the RFA module self-test.

    Is any DTC other than B10D7:05 present? 

    Yes  RESOLVE these Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) first. REFER to the RFA DTC Chart .
    No  GO to  D2

  2. D2 CHECK THE PASSIVE KEY

    • Verify the correct passive key is used with the vehicle. Refer to the parts catalog.

    Is the correct key used? 

    Yes  ATTEMPT to program the key again. REFER to: Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment . If key programming fails, GO to  D3
    No  OBTAIN the correct key for the vehicle. PROGRAM the new key. REFER to: Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment .

  3. D3 PROGRAM A SECOND PASSIVE KEY

    NOTE: This step requires a second passive key. If only one key is available, a second passive key must be obtained.

    Does the new key program to the vehicle? 

    Yes  DISCARD the damaged key in question.
    No  INSTALL a new PATS front antenna. REFER to: Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Front Antenna .
