Component Description: BCM

The BCM is the master module in control of the power door lock system. It is responsible for locking/unlocking the doors and releasing the liftgate/luggage compartment lid.

The BCM receives input from the door lock control switch, the liftgate/luggage compartment lid release switch, the RKE transmitters and messages over the CAN for operating the features associated with the power door locks and the liftgate/luggage compartment lid release.

For vehicles with push-button start, the BCM receives input from the RFA module for the RKE transmitter data over the MS-CAN for operating the features associated with the power door locks and the liftgate/luggage compartment lid release.

The BCM requires PMI when replaced.
