Fuel System Pressure Release: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Dodge Ram Wagon, 1995 Dodge Ram Van, 1995 Dodge Pickup, and 1995 Dodge Dakota. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
ALWAYS relieve pressure before disconnecting any fuel injection-related components. DO NOT allow fuel to contact engine or electrical components.
The fuel system is under constant fuel pressure (even with the engine off).
WARNING:
BECAUSE THE FUEL SYSTEM IS UNDER CONSTANT FUEL PRESSURE, THIS PRESSURE MUST BE RELEASED BEFORE SERVICING ANY FUEL SUPPLY OR FUEL RETURN SYSTEM COMPONENT. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL ON 3.9L OR 5.2L ENGINES.
