Test E: Transmitter Functions Do Not Operate
- Replace transmitter batteries, if condition of batteries are unknown. If transmitter now operates functionally, return vehicle to customer. If remote does not function, go to the next step.
- Jumper remote keyless entry BLK/WHT (1455) program wire to ground BLK (150) wire at keyless entry programming connector. If all power doors lock and unlock, go to the next step. If all doors do not lock and unlock, go to step 4 .
- Leave jumper connected. Obtain known good transmitter. Operate transmitter by pressing a single button once. Disconnect jumper from program connector. If transmitter operates all functions, replace inoperative transmitter and reprogram keyless entry module to replacement transmitter. See PROGRAMMING . If transmitter does not operate all functions, replace keyless entry module and reprogram replacement keyless entry module to transmitter. See CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION and PROGRAMMING .
- Disconnect program connector jumper. Check BLK/WHT (1455) wire for short to ground. If wire is shorted to ground, repair the BLK/WHT (1455) wire and reprogram keyless entry module. See PROGRAMMING . If the wire is not shorted to ground, go to the next step.
- Measure voltage at keyless entry module connector C1 terminal "A" ORN wire (540). If battery voltage is present, repair ORN (540) wire and reprogram keyless entry module. See PROGRAMMING . If battery voltage is not present, replace keyless entry module and reprogram replacement keyless entry module to transmitter. See CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION and PROGRAMMING .
